Orange Blossom Cake

Orange Blossom Cake Recipe

Simple, Sweet & Elegant, Orange Blossom Cake (with Homemade Orange Blossom Buttercream Frosting) is a Delicious Cake that adds a Pretty Touch to your Special Event - I hope you enjoy this Recipe!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Bake Time (350 Degrees) 45 minutes
Additional Time - Decorating 5 minutes
Total Time 1 hour

Ingredients

Orange Blossom Cake

  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/4 Cup Neutral Oil (Vegetable Oil, Canola Oil or Avocado Oil work well)
  • 3/4 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Tbl Orange Blossom Water
  • 2 Cups Flour (All-Purpose works well)
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/8 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/8 tsp Salt

Orange Blossom Buttercream Frosting (*see Notes Below)

  • 1/2 Cup (1 Stick) Butter (Softened, Room Temperature)
  • 1 1/4 Cups Powdered Sugar (Sifted)
  • 1 Tbl Heavy Cream
  • 1 tsp Orange Blossom Water
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla

Instructions

  1. Add Eggs, Oil, Sour Cream, Sugar & Orange Blossom Water into Stand Mixer Bowl with Flex Edge Attachment (or Mixing Bowl with Electric Hand Mixer) and Mix until well combined.
  2. Into a separate bowl, add the remaining dry ingredients for the Orange Blossom Cake (Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda & Salt) and mix together.
  3. To the Stand Mixer Bowl (or Mixing Bowl) add about half of the Dry Ingredients Mixture and Mix until well combined with the Wet Ingredients and then add the remaining Dry Ingredients & mix in as well.
  4. Pour the Orange Blossom Cake Batter into an 8" (or 10") Round Cake Pan. Pre-greasing the pan, if necessary, with Butter or Cooking Spray.
  5. Bake the Orange Blossom Cake at 350 Degrees for 35-45 min or until a toothpick comes out clean or with just a few crumbs.
  6. Place the Orange Blossom Cake on a cooling rack for about 5 min, then turn out the Orange Blossom Cake from the pan and allow it to completely cool on the cooling rack.
  7. While the Orange Blossom Cake cools completely, prepare the Orange Blossom Buttercream Frosting.
  8. Add Butter, Powdered Sugar, Heavy Cream, Orange Blossom Water & Vanilla into Stand Mixer Bowl with Flex Edge Attachment (or Mixing Bowl with Electric Hand Mixer) and Mix until well combined and a smooth frosting is created.
  9. Place the Orange Blossom Cake onto a Cake Board and Frost with the Orange Blossom Buttercream Frosting. (*see Notes below)
  10. Top with Edible Flowers or Decorations of choice. (*see Notes below)
