Today we will be making some Homemade Lemon Sorbet & Lemon Sherbet! These are Bright & Refreshing Lemon Treats – the Sorbet works wonderfully as a Palate Cleanser during a meal and the Lemon Sherbet is a Classic Favorite for a Hot Day! When we use the Cuisinart Automatic Ice Cream Maker as shown in the Recipe Card & Video below, it is oh so quick & easy too!

Homemade Lemon Sorbet

Homemade Lemon Sorbet prepared in the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker

This Bright & Refreshing Lemon Treat works wonderfully as a Palate Cleanser during a meal or as a light Dessert! We'll combine a few simple ingredients to create our Lemon Sorbet Base and then add to the Cuisinart Automatic Ice Cream Maker, it is oh so easy!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Pre-Chill Sorbet Base Time 2 hours
Ice Cream Maker Processing Time (Gelato Paddle) 50 minutes
Total Time 3 hours

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 Cups Water
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Lemon Juice

Instructions

  1. Add Water & Sugar into a Saucepan and heat until Sugar is dissolved.
  2. Pour the Sugar Mixture in a Casserole Dish with a Cover and Stir in Lemon Juice to create the Lemon Sorbet Base.
  3. Place Lemon Sorbet Base in the Refrigerator for 2 hours - Overnight.
  4. When ready to Make your Homemade Lemon Sorbet, simply remove the Lemon Sorbet Base from the Refrigerator and pour into the Ice Cream Maker's Reservoir Bucket. Insert Gelato Paddle.
  5. Turn Ice Cream Maker On, Press [Timer] and continue to press [Timer] until 50 min remains. Press [Start] and the Ice Cream Maker will start Churning & Making the Homemade Lemon Sorbet (See Notes below if using a different Ice Cream Maker than mentioned in this Recipe). It usually takes about 40 min to create a Light & Refreshing Lemon Sorbet!
  6. Once the Ice Cream Making Cycle has finished and the Ice Cream Maker beeps, flashing [00] on the screen. Remove the Ice Cream Maker's Reservoir Bucket and scoop the Homemade Lemon Sorbet into a Freezer Container and Place into the Freezer until ready to eat.
  7. Enjoy as a Palate Cleanser or Refreshing Treat!

Notes

  • If using a different style or brand ice cream maker, simply follow their instructions for pre-chilling the ice cream base, pre-freezing any components and the freeze processing time for creating your Homemade Lemon Sorbet in your Ice Cream Maker!

Homemade Lemon Sherbet prepared in the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker

This is a Creamy & Light Lemon Sherbet Recipe you will want to make time and time again. We'll combine a few simple ingredients to create our Lemon Sherbet Base and then add to the Cuisinart Automatic Ice Cream Maker, it is oh so easy!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Pre-Chill Sherbet Base Time 2 hours
Ice Cream Maker Processing Time (Ice Cream Paddle) 50 minutes
Total Time 3 hours

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Whole Milk
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 - 1 Cup Lemon Juice (Depending on how lemony you want your Sherbet!)

Instructions

  1. Add 1 Cup Milk & the Sugar into a Saucepan and heat until Sugar is dissolved.
  2. Pour the Sugar Mixture in a Casserole Dish with a Cover and Stir in remainder of Milk & Lemon Juice to create the Lemon Sherbet Base.
  3. Place Lemon Sherbet Base in the Refrigerator for 2 hours - Overnight.
