Moist Chocolate Cake | Family Recipe

Moist Chocolate Cake Family Recipe

This cake has a Moist, Soft Crumb and is nice & Springy! Better yet, it is made without eggs! Our family has been enjoying this simple & tasty cake over the generations & I hope you enjoy it as well!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Bake Time (350 Degrees) 30 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Flour
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 3 Tbs Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 6 Tbs Neutral Oil (Vegetable, Canola or Avocado Oil work well)
  • 1 Tbs Vinegar (White)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 Cup Cold Water

Instructions

  1. Place the Dry Ingredients into a Large Mixing Bowl (Flour, Sugar, Cocoa Powder, Baking Soda & Salt) & mix together until well combined.
  2. Add the Wet Ingredients (Oil, Vinegar, Vanilla & Water) to the Dry Ingredients in the Mixing Bowl & stir to make a nice smooth Cake Batter.
  3. Pour the Prepared Moist Chocolate Cake Batter into a 8"x8" Square Baking Pan (Round Baking Pans work well too). Line the Baking Pan for easy removal later if you want to serve on a Cake Stand or Platter.
  4. Bake the Moist Chocolate Cake at 350 Degrees or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the Moist Chocolate Cake to cool on a Cooling Rack prior to Frosting or adding Powdered Sugar, if desired.
  6. Serve with Whipped Cream or Ice Cream for an even more Sweet Treat!
