All the Flavors of a Turtle, in a Tasty Dessert! I use my Family Recipe for Chocolate Cake (See Link Below) which has a Moist, Soft Crumb and is nice & Springy! Better yet, it is made without eggs! Homemade Turtle Chocolate Cake Recipe

For this Delicious Chocolate Turtle Cake Recipe, use your favorite Homemade or Store-Bought Chocolate Cake & add an awesome Caramel Pecan & Chocolate Topping! All the Flavors of a Turtle, in a Tasty Dessert!

Chocolate Cake Bake Time (350 Degrees) [Follow Bake Time on Box if using Store-Bought Cake] 30 minutes
Caramel Pecan Sauce Cook Time 10 minutes
Chocolate Sauce Cook Time: [or Microwave Chocolate 20-30 sec at a time & stir after each heating, until melted] 5 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes

Ingredients

YOUR FAVORITE STORE-BOUGHT OR HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE

Caramel Pecan Sauce ingredients

  • 1 Cup Pecans (lightly toasted - 350 Degrees about 5 min)
  • 1/4 Cup Butter (1/2 Stick)
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Heavy Cream or Half & Half
  • 2 Tbl Light Corn Syrup
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Chocolate Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips (Semi-Sweet or Milk Chocolate work well)
  • 1/2 Cup Chocolate Melting Wafers (Milk Chocolate work well)

Instructions

  1. Bake your favorite Store-Bought or Homemade Chocolate Cake as directed on the Box or Recipe respectively.
  2. Prepare the Caramel Pecan Sauce by first melting the Butter in a large Saucepan or Dutch Oven.
  3. Then add the Brown Sugar, Heavy Cream/Half & Half, Corn Syrup & Salt and bring to a Boil.
  4. Reduce Heat Slightly and continue to simmer about 3-5 min or until a light Caramel Sauce is created, stirring continuously as it cooks.
  5. Stir in the Prepared Toasted Pecans & Vanilla. Set the Caramel Pecan Sauce aside.
  6. Melt the Chocolate Chips & Chocolate Melting Wafers in a Double Boiler (or in a Microwave Safe Bowl as noted above) until a smooth, melted Chocolate Sauce Result. Set Chocolate Sauce aside.
  7. Once the Chocolate Cake of Choice has Baked & Cooled Completely, Turn it out onto a Serving Plate.
  8. Pour the Prepared Chocolate Sauce, followed by the Caramel Pecan Sauce, alternating as you wish for the desired presentation of your Turtle Chocolate Cake.
  9. Allow the Turtle Chocolate Cake Toppings to Cool & Set.
  10. Then serve & Enjoy!

This Deliciously Decadent Turtle Cake is easy to put together from scratch & does not use eggs!
