Gladiolus Planting – Store-Bought & Saved From Last Fall!

You can purchase new Varieties to try for the Gladiolus Bulbs (corms), and if your enjoy them, dig them out of the soil in the fall and place them in a cool dry space until the next Spring! Year after year you can enjoy these Gladiolus Flowers in the yard or cut for in a vase!

To prep your Gladiolus Bulbs (corms) for storage, once out of the ground, cut off the plant a few inches above the corm and remove any cormettes (mini corms) as well as the old parent corm from the bottom of the Bulb(corm). Then place the Gladiolus Bulbs (corms) on a piece of cardboard to dry for about a week or two. Finally store the Gladiolus Bulbs (corms) in a Paper Bag and in a cool, dry place. I like to stick them (in an extra refrigerator) in the crisper drawer until next Spring. Then the Bulbs (corms) will be ready to plant again and provide some Beauty to the yard & inside with fresh cuttings!
