  • 6 Apples (Peeled, Cored & Sliced) (see Notes below*)
  • 1/4 - 1/2 Cup Cranberries (Fresh Minced) or Whole Canned (see Notes below*)
  • 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Cup Butter (1 Stick) (Cold & Coarsely Chopped)
  • 1 Cup Oatmeal (Quick Cook Oats)

Instructions

  1. Place about 1 Cup of Prepared Apples into individual Mini Pie Dishes, Ramekins or Mini Tin Loaf Pans (the amount of Apples depends on the size of Dish used).
  2. Sprinkle Minced (or Whole Canned) Cranberries on top of each dish of Apples.
  3. Combine Flour, Brown Sugar & Cinnamon into a Bowl and Stir Together.
  4. Cut in Cold Butter until pea size pieces of Butter result in the Flour Mixture.
  5. Then Stir in the Oatmeal to create the Cobbler (Crisp) Topping.
  6. Sprinkle Cobbler (Crisp) Topping over the Apples in the Baking Dishes to desired thickness.
  7. Bake the Cranberry Apple Cobblers (Crisps) at 350 Degrees for 35-45 min or until Apples are tender & the Topping is Golden Brown.
  8. Allow the Cranberry Apple Cobblers to Cool Slightly & Serve Warm. (see Notes below*)
  9. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Place Prepared Apples in a Bowl of Water with Lemon Juice (or Produce Protect) to prevent browning of Apples until ready to use.
  • The amount of Cranberries used depends on how sweet the apples are & how tart you like your dessert!
  • Serve these Cranberry Apple Cobblers (Crisps) warm with Whipped Cream or a Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream...Mmm!
  • You can prepare these Cranberry Apple Cobblers (Crisps) ahead & cover with Foil until ready to Bake that day.
  • Or Freeze (cover with Foil) and take out & thaw in the refrigerator until ready to Bake (you may need to add Bake Time to get a crispy result).

This recipe is a nice way to use Cranberries from the Holidays & Apples from the Harvest or if you are looking for a

Plus, they make a Delicious Dessert on a Cold Day!
