Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake
This Delicious (& Wonderfully Fall Flavored) Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake has a Moist Crumb with little pops of Chocolate! Give this Recipe a try for a Fun & Festive way to use up extra Pumpkin (or Sweet Potato) this Holiday Season!
Ingredients
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake (Dry Ingredients)
- 2 Cups Flour
- 2 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake (Wet Ingredients)
- 1 (15 oz) Can Pumpkin Puree (Unsweetened)
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Neutral Oil (Vegetable, Canola or Avocado work well)
- 2 Eggs
The Best part!
- 3/4 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- In a Stand Mixer, or mixing bowl, mix the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake Dry Ingredients (Flour, Pumpkin Pie Spice, Baking Powder, Baking Soda & Salt) until combined.
- In another bowl, mix the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake Wet Ingredients (Pumpkin Puree, Sugar, Neutral Oil & Eggs) until combined.
- Add the Wet Ingredients to the Dry Ingredients in the Stand Mixer, (the Flex Edge Attachment works well in a KitchenAid Stand Mixer for this) or mixing bowl, and stir until well incorporated.
- Mix in the Chocolate Chips until they are distributed throughout the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake Batter.
- Pour the Prepared Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake Batter into an 8x8 Baking Pan (see Notes below*).
- Bake the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake at 350 Degrees for 35 min or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the Cake in the pan on a cooling rack.
- Cut the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake to desired size pieces & Enjoy! (see Notes below*)
Notes
- If you would like a thick Cake, use an 8x8 Baking Pan. A little thinner Cake - 9x9 Baking Pan. For a nice thin Cake for making layers, use a 9x13 Baking Pan!
- Want a fancier presentation for your cake? Use a Bundt Pan!

- The Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake store nicely in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about a week.
Maple Whipped Cream:
1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream & 2 tsp Maple Extract or 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup. Whip to desired consistency & dollop on top of your Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake for an even more Decadent Dessert!
