Turkey Chili

Turkey Chili Recipe

Chili is the ultimate comfort food on a cold day or if you're in the mood for a thick hearty soup! This Turkey Chili will hit the spot & is a healthier version for those wanting different options.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Simmer Time 50 minutes
Total Time 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Cooked Turkey (cut into desired size pieces) [or 2 Lbs Ground Turkey - Browned]
  • 1-2 Tbl Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Garlic (minced)
  • 2 Cups Onion (chopped) [about 1 large onion]
  • 2 Tbl Cumin
  • 2 Tbl Chili Powder
  • 1 Tbl Oregano
  • 2-4 Jalapeno Peppers (chopped)
  • 2 Cups (1 Pint Jar) Tomatoes [Crushed, Diced, Whole or Tomato Sauce of choice work well]
  • 4 Cups Chicken or Vegetable Broth
  • 2 Cups (1 Pint Jar) Great Northern Beans (Drained)
  • 2 Cups (1 Pint Jar) Chili Beans [or Bean of Choice] (Drained)
  • 1 tsp Salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Sauté Onions with Olive Oil in a Dutch Oven or Instant Pot [Sauté Mode} over Medium Heat until Onions are Soft & Translucent.
  2. Add the Garlic and continue to Sauté until Garlic is Fragrant.
  3. Next add the Turkey, Cumin, Chili Powder, Oregano, Jalapeno Peppers, Tomatoes and Chicken/Vegetable Broth and stir until well combined.
  4. Simmer for 30 min.
  5. Stir in the Great Northern Beans, Chili Beans (or Beans of Choice) and Salt & Pepper to taste.
  6. Simmer the Turkey Chili 20 min - so the flavors and beans can cook together and heat through.
  7. Enjoy!
