Homemade Lasagna Soup Recipe | Comfort Food in a Hearty Soup!
Today we will be making some Delicious Homemade Lasagna Soup! By following the recipe in the Recipe Card or Video below, you’ll get all the yummy flavors of a slow baked Lasagna in a Simple & Hearty Soup. This is the ultimate Comfort Food on a cold day or if you’re in the mood for a thick hearty soup!

Lasagna Soup
With Homemade Lasagna Soup, you'll get all the yummy flavors of a slow baked Lasagna in a Simple & Hearty Soup. This is the ultimate comfort food on a cold day or if you're in the mood for a thick hearty soup!
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Onion (Diced)
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 Tbl Garlic (Minced)
- 2 Lbs Ground Beef
- 1 Tbl Italian Seasoning
- 1 tsp Black Pepper (Ground)
- 1 24 Oz Jar Pasta Sauce (Spaghetti Sauce) [If you Can your own Sauce, then 1 1/2 Pints]
- 4 Cups Beef Broth
- 1 28 oz Can Crushed Tomatoes [If you Can you own Crushed Tomatoes, then 1 1/2 Pints]
- 12-16 oz Mafalda or Radiatore Pasta (Rotini works well also) [See Note below regarding Pasta]
- 1/2 Cup Heavy Cream (or Half & Half)
- 1/2 Cup Mozzarella Cheese (Shredded)
- 1/2 Cup Monterey Jack Cheese (Shredded, Jack Blend is great too)
- Salt to Taste
Instructions
- Prep Onions and Place in Dutch Oven on the Stovetop, over Medium High heat, add 1/2 tsp of Salt & the Garlic. Stir and Saute until caramelized.
- Add the Ground Beef and Brown until no longer pink.
- Drain any excess Grease if necessary from the pan and then add the Italian Seasoning & Black Pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Add the Pasta Sauce, Beef Broth & Crushed Tomatoes. Stir until well incorporated.
- Now add the Pasta and bring the Soup Mixture to a Simmer, cooking the Pasta for @ 8 Minutes [See Note below regarding Pasta].
- Once the Pasta is slightly Al Dente, stir in the Heavy Cream, Mozzarella Cheese & Monterey Jack Cheese.
- After the Cheese has melted and the final ingredients are well combined. Add Salt to taste & Enjoy!
Notes
If you're not planning on eating all of this soup in one sitting, I would suggest cooking the pasta separate. Because the pasta absorbs the liquid as it sits and results in an even thicker, casserole-like consistency the next day as leftovers!
This Homemade Lasagna Soup is so hearty & delicious and has all the flavors of the slow cooked Italian Dish! If you’re not planning on eating all of this soup in one sitting, I would suggest cooking the pasta separate. Because the pasta absorbs the liquid as it sits and results in an even thicker, casserole-like consistency the next day as leftovers!
