Saltine Chocolate Toffee | Sweet Treats! | How to Make Homemade Toffee Bark with Saltine Crackers!

By taking Saltine Crackers and covering them with Homemade Toffee & Chocolate layers, you end up with a sweet Chocolate Toffee Bark. Then, top this delicious chocolatey toffee with some dried fruits & nuts and they are just simply delightful to eat & share! These are a great sweet snack to bring to gatherings, share as gifts or to have for the Holidays!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Toffee Cook Time 15 minutes
Melted Chocolate Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

Saltine Crackers Layer

  • 1 Large Sleeve of Saltine Crackers (or 2 Small Sleeves)

Homemade Toffee Layer

  • 3/4 Cup Butter (1 1/2 Sticks)
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar

Chocolate Layer

  • 2 Cups Chocolate Chips

Toppings Layer

  • 1 Cup White Chocolate Melts (or Chips)
  • 1/2 Cup Mixed Nuts (Coarsely Chopped)
  • 1/2 Cup Mixed Dried Fruit (Raisins, Craisins, Cherries work well)
  • 2 Tbl Whole Mixed Nuts (For Final Garnish)

Instructions

  1. Evenly place Saltine Crackers onto a Parchment Paper Lined Rimmed Baking Sheet Pan.
  2. Melt Butter in a Saucepan and stir in Brown Sugar. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking or scorching. Bring Sugar Mixture up to a Boil.
  3. Once the Sugar Mixture comes up to a boil, stir constantly & continue to Boil/Cook @ 3 min to create the Homemade Toffee.
  4. Pour Homemade Toffee Layer over the Saltine Crackers and evenly spread with an offset spatula.
  5. Melt Chocolate Chips in a Double Boiler (or in the Microwave - 20 sec then stir, repeating as necessary until the Chocolate is melted and smooth). Remove from heat once the Chocolate is melted and smooth.
  6. Pour Melted Chocolate Layer over the Saltine Crackers and evenly spread with an offset spatula, spreading the Chocolate past the edges of the Saltine Crackers.
  7. Melt White Chocolate Melts (or Chips) in a Double Boiler (or in the Microwave - 20 sec then stir, repeating as necessary until the White Chocolate is melted and smooth). Remove from heat once the White Chocolate is melted and smooth.
  8. Drizzle, Dollop & Spread melted White Chocolate as desired over the previous Chocolate Layer.
  9. Decorate the Saltine Chocolate Toffee with Mixed Nuts & Dried Fruit. Gently press the Nuts & Dried Fruit into the Chocolate Layers so they will stick once set. Add Final Garnish of Whole Mixed Nuts.
  10. Place the Pan of Saltine Chocolate Toffee into the Refrigerator to Set for @ 1 Hour.
  11. Once set, Cut the Saltine Chocolate Toffee into desired size and shaped pieces.
  12. Enjoy!

Notes

This Saltine Chocolate Toffee stores nicely in an airtight container on the counter for about 2 weeks - if it lasts uneaten that long! πŸ˜‰
