Homemade Chili Seasoning Mix

This is a flavorful seasoning mix to help make the ultimate Hearty Chili on a cold day or if you're in the mood for some Chili Flavored Popcorn or snack!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Cumin
  • 6 Tbl Onion Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Oregano
  • 1/4 Cup Paprika

Salt & Pepper Notes

  • You can add 3 Tbl Salt & 2 Tbl Black Pepper if you want the Salt & Pepper already in the Seasoning Mix. I add the Salt & Pepper later, when cooking, to taste.
  • If adding Salt & Pepper later when cooking, do to your preference of flavor. A good place to start is @ 1 tsp Salt and 1/2 tsp Black Pepper per lb of Meat.
  • When adding the Salt & Pepper later, when cooking, you can make adjustments easier based on the other ingredients you added in order to make your Delicious Chili! The flavors and salt content of Beans, Tomato Paste & Sauces can vary greatly.

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients and mix well in a bowl.
  2. Use a Funnel or Spoon to place Chili Seasoning Mix into an airtight storage container.
  3. When ready to make your Homemade Chili, add 1/4 Cup of Chili Seasoning Mix per lb of Meat, or as desired!
  4. I then add Salt & Pepper to taste when making my Homemade Chili. Usually @ 1 tsp Salt and 1/2 tsp Black Pepper per lb of Meat works well.

Notes

If you like a Hot & Spicy Chili, when cooking, add some of your favorite peppers or spicy seasonings to help get that Kick you're looking for!

I do not add Salt or Pepper to my Homemade Chili Seasoning Mix and instead Salt & Pepper to taste when I make my Chili. A good starting point is 1 tsp Salt and 1/2 tsp Pepper per Lb of Meat. But play around with that when you’re cooking and add as you see fit!
