Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 Tbl Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Cold Butter (1 Stick) - Cut into Cubes
  • 1/2 Cup Ice Cold Water

Instructions

  1. Pulse the Flour, Salt, Sugar and Butter in a food processor until pea-sized butter pieces. You can do this by hand as well using a pastry cutter.
  2. Then add the water, pulsing (or mixing) until dough comes together (no dried flour on outside of food processor). This will be crumbly dough that easily forms a ball when compressed.
  3. Form into a ball and roll out to size. Or flatten ball slightly & place in a freezer safe bag for longer term storage.
  4. Place in pie dish, add desired filling and bake per chosen pie/quiche recipe instructions.
  5. Enjoy your flaky and delicious crust!

Notes

To use a pre-frozen pie crust, simply take the crust out of the freezer the night before using and thaw in the refrigerator until needed for desired recipe.

I have experimented with many pie crust recipes. As well as altered & combined quite a few recipes until I finally came up with this tried-and-true flaky homemade pie crust recipe.
