Homemade Sweet & Sour Chili Sauce

Homemade Sweet & Sour Sauce Recipes | Delicious Sweet & Sour Chili Sauce Recipe

Together we'll make some Delicious Sweet & Sour Chili Sauce; where you control the ingredients, as well as the level of Sweet, Sour & Spicy flavors for your next Appetizer or Meal!

Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Tbl Rice Vinegar
  • 3 Tbl Ketchup
  • 3 Tbl Sugar
  • 1 Tbl Chili Paste (Sambal Oelek) (*see Notes below)
  • 1 tsp Garlic (minced)
  • [Cornstarch Slurry: 1 Tbl Cornstarch & 2 Tbl Water]

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients (except Cornstarch Slurry) into a saucepan, stir to combine and heat on Medium until the Homemade Sweet and Sour Chili Sauce comes to a simmer.
  2. Stir in the Cornstarch Slurry and bring back up to a simmer and the sauce thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and enjoy as a dipping sauce or in some of your favorite recipes as a sweet, sour and spicy sauce!

Notes

  • If you like your Sweet & Sour Chili Sauce spicy, add more Chili Paste! You control the ingredients and flavors for your Homemade Sauce!

Homemade Sweet & Sour Sauce Recipes | Restaurant Style Sweet & Sour Sauce

Together we'll make some Restaurant Style Sweet & Sour Sauce that is reminiscent of the dipping sauce you often get with Chinese Takeout! Only better, because you control the ingredients!

Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 2 Tbl Corn Starch
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 - 4 Tbl White Vinegar (Start with 2 Tbl & add as needed to taste) [4 Tbl = ¼ Cup]
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 3 - 5 Drops of Red Gel Food Coloring (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Place Water & Corn Starch into a saucepan, stir to combine and add all remaining ingredients.
  2. Heat the sauce mixture on Medium, stirring frequently, until the Homemade Sweet and Sour Sauce comes to a simmer and the sauce thickens. Add Gel Fool Coloring (Optional) to help get that Red color like Takeout Restaurant Sweet & Sour Sauce!
  3. Remove from heat and enjoy as a dipping sauce or in some of your favorite recipes as a tasty Sweet and Sour Sauce!

These Homemade Sweet & Sour Sauces work wonderfully as a Condiment for dipping, as a Mariade or for an Asian Inspired Entree item for your next meal.
