Coffee & Espresso Extract

Coffee & Espresso Extracts are great for adding to beverages or for baking and they make a great addition to a gift basket. Keep these items in mind when trying to think of a Homemade Item you can share as a Holiday Gift, Housewarming Present or a little something special for that Coffee Lover or Baker in your family, just because!

Prep Time 5 minutes

Instant Pot Cook Time 40 minutes

Natural Release & Cooling Time 2 hours

Total Time 2 hours 45 minutes

Ingredients

Whole Coffee Beans (Regular or Decaf)
Vodka, Rum or Spiced Rum
Regular Mouth Mason Jars with Lids & Rings
Bottles (5 oz glass bottles work well)

Instructions

Place 1/2 Cup of Coffee Beans (Coffee Extract) or 1 Cup of Coffee Beans (Espresso Extract) into Regular Mouth Mason Jars.
Top with Alcohol of Choice from list above, leaving a 1" headspace. Apply lid/ring on each jar, finger tightening the ring.
Place 1 1/2 Cups of water into Instant Pot Liner Pot followed by Trivet.
Place Mason Jars into Instant Pot on the Trivet and cook for 40 min (High Pressure, Normal Setting).
Once cook time has finished, let Instant Pot Natural Release for 1 Hour.
Remove Jars from Instant Pot using a Canning Jar Lifter or Hot Pad. Be careful, the jars will be hot!
Allow Jars to cool on cooling pad for @ 1 Hour.
Carefully remove Rings & Lids and pour liquid into Bottle of Choice using a Strainer Funnel.
Add lid to Bottle once cooled and Label Bottles.
Enjoy or add to a Gift Basket or simply share as a gift!

Notes

6 Quart Instant Pot with hold 4 Regular Mouth Pint Jars.

8 Quart Instant Pot will hold 5 Regular Mouth Pint Jars.
