These Buttermilk Biscuits would be great for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. They are Crispy on the top and Soft & Flaky in the Middle - Mmm, so good!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Bake Time 15 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Cold, Salted Butter (2 Sticks) [Shred in Food Processor or Grate]
  • 4 Cups Flour (All-Purpose)
  • 2 Tbl Sugar
  • 2 Tbl Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 Cups Buttermilk [ 2 Cups Milk + 2 Tbl White Vinegar, mix & set aside 10 min to make Buttermilk in a pinch]

Instructions

  1. Prep Cold Butter by Shredding with Coarse Disc/Option in Food Processor or Hand Grater. Place on parchment paper lined cookie sheet and put in the freezer until ready to add to recipe.
  2. Place the Dry Ingredients (Flour, Sugar, Baking Powder & Baking Soda) into a bowl and mix together.
  3. Pre-heat Oven to 425 Degrees.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients & Cold Butter in a bowl and cut with a Pastry Cutter to incorporate the butter throughout the mixture.
  5. Add the Buttermilk to the mixture and stir until combined and a sticky dough is formed.
  6. Turn the Buttermilk Biscuit dough onto a floured surface and press the dough together to make a rectangular shape, about 1 1/2" thick. Add Flour as necessary to make the dough more workable.
  7. Fold 1/3 of the dough into the middle and then from the other side, fold 1/3 of the dough into the middle. This creates another rectangular shaped dough. Now fold 1/2 of the dough back onto itself creating a square shaped Buttermilk Biscuit Dough.
  8. Using a Rolling Pin, roll the Buttermilk Biscuit Dough out until @ 1/2" thick.
  9. Cut Buttermilk Biscuits to desired size and shape. Biscuit Cutters, Drinking Glasses or Mason Jars work well!
  10. Place Buttermilk Biscuits onto a Baking Pan and Bake at 425 Degrees for 12-16 min or until desired Golden Brown Color.
  11. Allow to cool slightly on a cooling rack - if you can πŸ˜‰
  12. Enjoy!
