German Potato Salad

Here is our Family Recipe for German Potato Salad! This is a Classic dish that makes a wonderful addition to a BBQ, Picnic or Family Gathering.

Prep Time 5 minutes

Cook Time 25 minutes

Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

1/2 lb Bacon (chopped)
1 Onion (chopped)
1 Tbs Flour
6 Tbs Sugar
1/2 Cup Cold Water
1/2 Cup White Vinegar
8 Yellow Potatoes (washed, peeled, cooked & sliced) -or- 4-6 Cans Store-Bought Whole Potatoes (drained & sliced) -or- 2 Quarts Home-Canned Potatoes (drained & sliced)

Instructions

Cook Bacon in a Large Roasting Pan or Dutch Oven until fats released.
Sauté Onion with Bacon until cooked to liking.
Add Flour, Sugar, Water & Vinegar and Cook until a smooth, thickened sauce results.
Stir in Potatoes and Cook until heated through.
Enjoy as a side dish for Lunch, Dinner or Gathering!
