Homemade (Healthy) Gummy Bears

Homemade Candy - Healthy Lower Sugar Gummy Bears Recipe

These Homemade treats are a Healthy Gummy Bear option that is a Really Simple & Low Sugar Recipe! Homemade Healthy Gummy Bears may be a nice option for someone you know who needs to watch their sugar; they can still enjoy a Homemade Candy that you took the time to make for them! These also make a Fun, Sweet Treat for the Kids!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Set Time in Refrigerator 2 hours
Total Time 2 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Juice (Orange, Grapefruit, Cranberry, Watermelon, Pomegranate...) (*see Notes below)
  • 2 1/4 Tbl Gelatin (Unflavored) [or 2 Envelopes]
  • 1-2 Tbl Honey (Optional) (*see Notes below)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 Cup of Juice and Honey (optional) in a Saucepan over Medium High heat to a Simmer.
  2. While the Juice is heating, add the Gelatin to the 1/2 Cup of the Cold Juice you reserved. Mix together and allow to sit @ 5 min.
  3. Add the Gelatin Mixture to the Simmering Juice Mixture and stir until combined to create your Healthy Gummy Bear Solution. Remove from heat.
  4. Dropper the Healthy Gummy Bear Solution into the Gummy Bear Molds (or Loaf Pan).
  5. Place the filled Gummy Bear Molds or Loaf Pans onto a Baking Sheet and place them into the Refrigerator to set (@ 2hours) or until firm to touch.
  6. Once Set & Firm, remove the Homemade Healthy Gummy Bears from the Molds (or Loaf Pan), pushing up from the feet portion of the Gummy Bear Molds to help the process.
  7. Enjoy as a Healthy Sweet Treat!

Notes

  • 1 Cup of Juice will be Heated to a Simmer, the remaining 1/2 Cup of Cold Juice will be used for the Gelatin Preparation.
  • If you want a sweeter Gummy Bear, you can add Honey, Agave Nectar or sweetener of choice.
  • These Homemade Healthy Gummy Bears store nicely in an airtight container in the Refrigerator for @ 1-2 weeks.


You can play around with whatever juice flavor you prefer or have on hand. These Homemade Healthy Gummy Bears can also be made to coordinate with the colors or flavors of a given gathering or event!
